Film Review Hotel Transylvania 3-Summer Vacation by The True Verse

Review Hotel Transylvania 3-Summer Vacation

Before deciding whether this film is good or not, I have to start by telling you what the story of this film is about. So, the thing that is really highlighted here is Dracula who zings twice to a new character in this film named Ericka. The plot of this film is quite simple, it's following the standard film plot which is someone cruel will become good.
So, the starting of the film gives us a flashback when monsters are hunted by Abraham Van Helsing who is obsessed to kill monsters. But, in my opinion the status quo of this film is when Mavis notices her father is bothered by something and Mavis presumes that his father has been really busy and tired running the hotel and Mavis decides to plan a holiday "family vacation" that might help her father remove his stress, but actually his father is not bothered by the hectics in running his hotel, he just feels alone and needs a woman who can bring his happiness again and will not feel lonely.
Dracula and his family and other monsters go on a cruise trip to "the lost island that is not lost anymore" named Atlantis. They go there by a cruise ship that is captained by Ericka, a human woman who at first is trying to kill Dracula because she wants to follow her family legacy and it turns out that her great great grandfather Abraham Van Helsing is not dead instead he is hiding in a secret room inside the cruise ship and all this trip is actually planned by Van Helsing to kill all the monsters. Dracula on the other hand does not realize it at first that Ericka wants to kill him because he zings over Ericka and later Ericka actually falls in love with Dracula as well. But due to her great great grandfather's obsession, Ericka tries to ignore her feeling to Dracula, she goes on taking the "Instrument of Destruction"  that is later used by her great great grandfather to hypnotize the Kraken to destroy all the monsters. But, when Ericka goes into the place where the instrument lies there are many traps but luckily she is saved by Dracula who is sneaking behind her while entering the place that Dracula is also followed by her daughter Mavis and his daughter reckons that Ericka is up to something bad.
Ericka's great great grandfather succeeds to hypnotize the Kraken and everything in the party is almost destroyed. Dracula is even close to death but he is saved by Ericka who then realizes that she should follow her heart no thinking about whether monster or human "we are all equal".

However, her obsessed great great grandfather will not stop playing the instrument of destruction. And to end the destructive tune, Johnny has an idea that is playing positive musics to remove the hypnosis that blinds Kraken. Abraham Van Helsing and Johnny with his father in law Dracula are in a DJ battle until Johnny plays his "super positive music" Macarena by LOS DEL RIO. Abraham Van Helsing somehow dances following the music and he then falls off the cliff but Dracula saves him and at that time Abraham Van Helsing removes his hatred over all the monsters. All the monsters and Dracula's family including Ericka go back to the hotel and there Dracula proposes Ericka and Ericka says yes.
Okay, here comes my fierce critiques. Nope I am joking, I am actually gonna say that this film is wonderful because it's full of wonders, no of course not. But, it is because:
1. From the graphic, it is totally cool and smooth
2. New characters who are always waited by Hotel Transylvania fans have been provided
3. New comedies are awesome
4. New fun musics are awesome
Seriously, this film is awesome, I can't say more. But hold on a second I noticed that the plot in this story is almost similar to the Hotel Transylvania 1 where human and monster at first cannot get married to each other. Why would they bring this plot again? I know you're gonna say these two films are different but they have similarities dude, Didn't you notice it? only in this film Monster is the one who proposes a human.
Somehow, I am seeing this film as an allegory which shows the inequality in this world, not the monsters and human of course but like skin colours, races, religions, genders, and same sort of things. Sony brings this theme again to encourage people to love diversity, to never see boundaries and such thing. Those sort of things that come up into my mind when i watched this film, we all have to understand each other and notice that time has changed everything that we should change our mindset too. No more fight and hatred between human and monsters mean no more fight and hatred between two different religions, views, races, etc. We all have to unite as one with love binds us just like Johnny says (1:09:48-1:10:05).

FLIES OF A SUMMER by Peter Kocan:

A book I borrowed from my University library.

I thought my University library has no cool novels, but I wanted to observe it and find out whether it is true or not. I went to the library often, but never really looked for novels because I thought the library only provides academic books. When I walked through the aisle of the bookshelves, I looked carefully to every book and I stopped when I looked at this book, I thought it wasn't a novel then I took it and read the very first pages and found out that it is a novel, I borrowed it and read it at home. The story is quite fascinating, the genre is fantasy because it introduces unnatural creatures, strange culture and life style. It uses the first person view. The interesting thing is the author uses present tense. The story starts when the narrator explains their lives as slaves for Margai (creatures that are bigger than human), they do farming, fishing, and picking blueberries. Most of the characters are girls and boys including the narrator, he introduces a friend of him who is different from others, not physically but the way the boy sees things and his different friend's name is Rowan. The funny thing I found in the novel is the culture of the mating time as though humans are animal that have certain time for mating. Rowan is the bravest and toughest than others, he always wants to explore all lands. One day, Rowan pursued an old man whom his friends don't believe his existence except the narrator. Rowan found the old man's garment and a spear, Rowan keeps them and tells only to the narrator about the garment and the spear. He hides them in the bush because Margai don't allow slaves to have weapon. The beginning of conflict happens when Rowan and the narrator went to the Big Stones, near a river, two Margai suddenly come and almost kills the narrator and Rowan, they are separated. The narrator falls into the river and the old saves him and brings him to his cave, he gets loads of information from the old man. The narrator goes back to the village and meets Rowan, he tells that he met the old man, Rowan encourages the others but only some who are interested in his speech. Rowan practises spearing even when the mating time comes, the narrator has a girl who he mates to. After months, the babies are born, grow up and when they are old enough, the Margai takes the boys and the girls to the Mountain, Rowan is gone because he is found by Margai while he practises spearing and he is put in a pit. The narrator and the others go to the Mountain and at the same time, the Margai battle with each other, Rowan uses the chance to escape. When the narrator and the others guided by Margai are halfway to their destination. One of the Margai is killed by Rowan and then the other Margai too. Rowan saves the boys and girls and they plan to go back to the village takes it over from the Margai, but one of their friends is gone. They go to the village, do the plan and they make it. However, suddenly their lost friend comes with the Margai fight Rowan. Their lost friend doesn't mean to call the Margai, he thought they needed help when one of the Margai were killed and lost when they were halfway to the Mountain. Rowan fights to death, he tells the narrator to take the others to the save place near the old man's cave. They leave Rowan behind and Rowan becomes their hero.

Personal Opinion:
It is a bit difficult to find references for this novel, I want to look more about the novel but couldn't find it on the internet. The story in this novel follows the path of Hero's journey by Joseph Campbell where in the novel the narrator explains the status quo or the normal life, then something motivates him and his friend to get new life, a freer life and the trails face them and it ends happily.

A Farewell to Arms book cover

A Romance Tragedy of World War I

A Farewell to Arms by Ernest Hemingway

It is of course an old novel written by an American novelist who had a really outstanding life experiences and he poured them into his works. The story in this novel is kind of similar to what Ernest Hemingway had experienced based on the source I found. I can summarise this novel to you in  simple way. So, the story tells that the narrator whose name is Mr. Henry who is an ambulance driver, he is american but he joined into Italian army in World War I. One day, he met a woman named Catherine Barkley, an English nurse who also was in Italy to help the wounded army in the hospital. Henry and Catherine fell in love with each other and they did it in the hospital. Catherine was pregnant. Henry went back to the front and he was wounded, he had to be brought to the hospital until finally he went to the front again. He was with some Italian armies, something happened on the street, some Italians didn't do what he ordered, he killed one of them. One of those Italian decided to come with Henry until he ran and Henry was accused to be a traitor because of killing the Italian. Henry ran away, fled from the war and the front. He met Catherine and took her to Switzerland. They had a lovely time for a moment when finally it was the due date for pregnant Catherine. They child died and then Catherine died as well.
The last sentence of the novel "After a while I went out and left the hospital and walked back to the hotel in the rain" tells that he was in a really deep grief and he didn't dare to see Catherine lay on bed not breathing. The rain added the pain and it really shows how sorrowful he was.

 Personal Opinion:

There are a lot of drinking wine, brendy, and other alcohol drinks. Well, that thing that catches my mind, Catherine was pregnant and she was supposed not to drink the alcohol too much or if possible, she shouldn't have drink alcohol drink. Poor Catherine, poor baby, poor Henry :( I didn't expect the end would be like that.
I finished reading it at night when I just had my lunch, I couldn't for the end of the story and I thought the end of this novel would be Catherine and Henry lived happily with their baby in switzerland in peace and harmony, lol :D. But of course that's another boring ending, in-the-box ending. This novel however is sick. Awesome! Don't be sad Henry because time heals all wounds.
  One more thing to say:
A Farewell to Arms is one of Hemingway's finest novels published in 1929 when the author was at the height of his powers. It draws on his experiences serving with the Italians in World War One when he was severely wounded in action and awarded the Croce de Guerra. This is a vivid portrait of men at war which also explores their deeper responses to the cruelty and heroism of battle ( I took from the cover of novel published by The Millenium Library).

Summary of The Journey to the East

Summary of The Journey to the East by Hermann Hesse

The Journey To the East is a short novel written by a German novelist named Hermann Hesse and the original title is Die Morgenlandfahrt published in 1932. This is a narrated novel by a man known only as H.H.
The story began when H.H joined a mysterious religious sect known as The League although it actually shows Christianity. The group went on pilgrimage to the mysterious East and their purpose was to seek for the ultimate truth. During their journey to the East they stopped at churches and graves to pray and to pay respects. Their journey is fascinating because it seems that they moved through time and space. Moreover, deceased notable people are mentioned, like Plato, Phytagoras and others. In spite of their interesting journey, unexpected things happened to them; two of their mates left the team. One of those who left was actually missing, his name is Leo. He is known as a person who knows lots of things and H.H had good conversations with his on their journey. When he was missing, the whole team was looking for him but they couldn't find him and they started quarreling each other whether the copy of their important documents were with Leo. Some said that the copy was with him and the others said otherwise. Because of the dispute, the team had to break apart.
Long time after the journey, H.H was still curious about Leo and he wanted find Leo. So, he went to his friend's house and asked about the man named Leo. His friend told him that he knew someone named Leo and he gave the address. Then, H.H. went to Leo's house but he wasn't brave enough to enter the house. But when Leo came out from his house,  H. H followed him and got a chance to sit him at the park, he talked with Leo hoping that Leo still recognised him but no, Leo said that he didn't recognise H.H.
At night after their encounter, H.H was disappointed so he wrote about Leo and the League. On the next day, without H.H's knowledge Leo was in H.H's house and informed H.H that the High Throne (Leader of the League)  wanted to meet him. When they arrived, The Speaker of the League judged H.H because he revealed The League's secrets and he would get punishment. But, Leo who actually the High Throne decided to give H.H a second chance to be loyal and faithful to The League and to God. H.H accepted it and he went into a room which he saw his sculpture and Leo's.

Personal Review:

I read the English version of this novel and I spent only about three hours reading it. Overall, this novel is interesting not only because it is an adventure fiction novel which is I really love but because it is easy to follow; the plot is moving forward, attractive; the names and scenes in this novel are easy to glue in our mind, helpJourney To the East is a short novel written by a German novelist named Hermann Hesse and the original title is Die Morgenlandfahrt published in 1932.
